That's why it is important to consider a wide range of cover options for your dog and cat, from basic coverage to comprehensive plans that offer higher cover and sub-limits. Considering the different cover options can help you find the policy that best aligns with your specific lifestyle, your budget and potential for unexpected pet expenses.

Pet insurance can help offer financial assistance by reimbursing a predetermined percentage of eligible veterinary expenses, up to set annual limits and sub-limits, when your pet requires treatment for specified accidental injuries or illnesses, covered by your policy. Ensure you check whether any cover exclusions may apply. You select your desired coverage level and pay regular premiums, monthly, weekly or fortnightly. In the event of a claim, you may be required to pay the full cost upfront of any vet bills and seek a reimbursement from your insurer for eligible claims. Excess and waiting periods may apply.

Pet insurance premiums are calculated by considering several factors, including but not limited to, the policy and level of cover and any factors that may increase or decrease the risk to the insurer. Dental coverage is usually separate from pet insurance. However, you can add Everyday Pet Insurance's optional routine care (non-insurance) benefit to your Comprehensive or Comprehensive Plus policy. With routine care, you can get $50 annually towards vaccinations or health checks, and then another $50 annually towards other specified routine care items, including dental illness treatment and teeth cleaning. Vaccinations are usually separate from pet insurance. However, you can add Everyday Pet Insurance's optional routine care (non-insurance) benefit to your Comprehensive or Comprehensive Plus policy. With routine care you can get up to $50 annually for vaccinations. For further details around routine care, you can read the Everyday Pet Insurance Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).

Everyday Pet Insurance provides cover for eligible treatments by visiting any registered vet in Australia. This can includes any veterinarian, veterinary specialist, animal hospital, animal clinic or animal surgery (other than yourself), who is licensed in and currently registered in Australia. 

If you'd like you claim on the spot and only pay the gap on eligible bills, you can choose GapOnly® at participating vets.= Alternatively, you (or your vet) may seek pre-approval for the expected costs of treatment under your policy. 

As an Everyday Pet Insurance customer, you can also access VetAssist† which gives you access to a licensed Australian vet for free via video call or online chat 24/7. Valued at $199 p.a.

Pet insurance may cover diagnostic expenses, such as x-rays, for eligible conditions outlined in your policy, up to any applicable annual limits and sub-limits. However, routine or elective tests, as well as treatment for pre-existing conditions, may be excluded from coverage. 2 Cover is available for the life of your pet provided you renew your policy each year without any break, lapse or change in the level of Cover. This means once your pet is insured with us and as long as we continue to offer the product, you will be able to renew your policy for that pet for life provided you continuously maintain the cover. Cover is subject to the terms and conditions of your renewing policy. See details in your PDS.

Optional Routine Care benefits are not automatically included in Comprehensive and Comprehensive Plus plans, but can be added on for an additional fee.
