How does Everyday Drive Less Pay Less work?

Get a quote online and tell us how many kilometres you plan to drive each year. We'll let you know if you qualify and provide you with a quote.

Tell us your Start Odometer Reading.


When choosing this cover, you tell us your car's odometer reading on the date your policy begins, this is your Start Odometer Reading.

Your End Odometer Reading is calculated by adding the amount of kilometres you plan to drive to the start odometer reading that you have disclosed.

Apply to top up your kilometres if you need.

You can increase your End Odometer Reading in your My Insurance Portal account. Click on ‘View Policy details’, and click on ‘Need more kms?'.

Note: If you make a claim at a time when you’re outside the end odometer reading shown on your Certificate of Insurance, then you may need to pay the basic excess, an Outside Odometer Excess and any other applicable excesses at the time of a claim.

You can lodge your Car Insurance claim quickly and easily via your My Insurance Portal account. Login now to start your claim.

To lodge a claim, you'll need the full name, address and registration number of any other parties involved, as well as the telephone and licence number of the other driver if possible.

If you need to make other changes to your policy, such as updating your physical address, you can contact us on 1300 10 1234  during our operating hours. Note that if your policy is pending renewal, online changes might be restricted.

 

If we offer renewal, the policy will automatically renew as per the renewal notice. We will send you this renewal notice at least 14 days before your renewal date which will outline what you need to do to stay covered. You should check your renewal notice carefully and contact us on 1300 10 1234 if you need to make any changes to your policy or details.

With automatic renewal, your renewal notice will set out the proposed new policy terms and premium. If no changes are required to your policy and your premium payments are up to date, you don’t need to do anything – your policy will automatically renew. 

If you opted out of automatic renewal, your renewal notice will advise you to call to continue your cover. We will provide you with a quote and policy terms. If you’re happy to proceed, we will renew your policy.

Calculations based on profiles of existing Everyday Car Insurance customers who advised they drive under 15,000 km annually. Current as at 06 March 2024. Eligibility for Drive Less Pay Less and actual savings is determined by your individual circumstances, including the kilometres selected and other risk factors and underwriting criteria. Minimum premiums may reduce savings. Kilometres can be increased to a limit of 15,000km per period of insurance for an additional premium. In event of a claim, if the end odometer reading is exceeded, an additional Outside odometer excess will apply.
